Swan Lake Stage Design

The main aim of conducting this project was of course to achieve personal professional advancement through experiencing a real life design project for a theatre as an interior space. This could be achieved by pursuing several objectives. First, was to gain experience of dealing with complex issues for design such as exploring and understanding people’s perceptions and expectations. Second, was to try meeting those expectations, and even challenging established perceptions, by offering creative design solutions. The third objective was to explore a particular set of cultural elements and their potentials to be employed within a different context, i.e. as elements of contemporary stage designs appealing to Western audience (e.g. British people). Finally, the project provided an invaluable opportunity for getting better acquainted with modern tools, techniques, and new methods of stage design and their potentials for future exploitation.
